5 Ways to Fill the Blank Space Over Your Sofa

by Wiens Furniture & Appliances

The blank wall behind the sofa can be a tricky spot to decorate. If your sofa wall needs some décor, look no further! We’re here to show you five ways to help you decorate that space with ease!

1. Gallery Wall

A gallery wall is a great way to spruce up that empty wall. It can be challenging to find one perfect piece of art, so choosing a few that catch your eye is a great way to fill up the wall.

Tip: It helps to arrange prints on the floor before nailing them to the wall! It helps get a sense of what it will look like once every piece is up.

2. Bookshelf

If you have space behind your sofa, consider a bookshelf. It’s a great way to add a tall piece of furniture to your living room, and you don’t have to worry about which art piece to pick! Don’t forget to add lots of decorative accents – like vases and candle holders.

3. One Large Painting

Consider hanging one piece of art instead of many smaller prints. There’s no coordinating that needs to happen – it’s the simplest way to make a statement behind your sofa!

4. A Large Mirror

A large mirror is a perfect piece for above the sofa. Not only is it a great focal point, but it also reflects light into the room.

5. Nothing!

Are you still not sure what to put behind your sofa? Try moving it in from the wall to in front of the window. Hang a pair of pretty curtains, and you’re good to go!
