We are spending more time than ever at home! So, why not make the best of it and make our homes extra cozy to live in? We’re sharing a few tips to cozify your home that you can do today! Let’s get cozy!
1. Open your windows
Whenever possible, throw open your windows! Spring is here in Manitoba, so why not let the fresh air waft into your home? If you can’t open the windows, roll up your blinds and let the sunshine in.
2. Light a candle
There is something about candlelight that just screams “cozy”! Try placing them away from other lamps in the room—so light is distributed around. We love the candle selection at The Community General Store here in Niverville! They have so many delicious-smelling options!
3. Clip some branches
Things are starting to green up here in Manitoba, so why not place a budding branch in a vase or jar to add some greenery to your home? If you don’t have a yard, check out your local hardware store, grocery store, or florist for some greenery.
4. Declutter a little
Take some time to evaluate everything in your home. Keep what you love, sell or donate what you don’t. Yes, Marie Kondo your house! Your home will immediately feel cozier.
5. Turn on some music
Turn on those tunes! Music makes a home come alive, so pick your favourite songs and sing along.
6. Bake something
Baking chocolate chip cookies or brownies makes the whole house smell so good! Not only have you made everything smell heavenly, you now have a treat to snack on, too. Try baking with convection to bake those trays of cookies even faster!
7. Sip something hot
It’s no secret! We love coffee! You’ve probably seen us make a coffee on our built-in espresso machine here at the store. But, even if you don’t have a built-in one, use your favourite machine and make a cup!
8. Add a pillow or two!

9. Add an area rug
