The new year, for many of us, comes with a desire to simplify. We spent the holidays indulging, so we're eager to reset. Here are 5 ways you can do this new year!
1. Donate Decorations
The best time to go through holiday decorations is right after the holidays are over because you know what you used and what you didn't. Go through the decor, donate what you didn't use, and next year, you'll have just the things you love!
2. Use Up Food
Simplify your pantry and eat up all of that holiday food before it goes bad. You’re likely not to eat cranberry sauce or stuffing till the end of the year, so use it up and buy fresh before the next holiday season.
3. Wipe Down the Refrigerator
After a big holiday cooking fest, little bits of food can get everywhere, sticky handprints make their way to the refrigerator, and food gets forgotten in the back of the fridge. Take everything out and wipe it down.
4. Simplify Your Cupboards
Simplify your cupboards by donating unused dishes, glasses, and cutlery. Our cupboards can quickly fill up with these things that we don’t use. You’ll be amazed at how you feel when your kitchen is organized and simplified.
5. Spring Clean
Okay, it’s not Spring yet, but after the holidays, things can get pretty messy, so give your whole home a clean by dusting, vacuuming, and moping. Make sure to get all of the tree pine needles!
Happy New Year! We hope you enjoy your simplified home!
