How to Clean a Steam Oven

by Wiens Furniture & Appliances

Steam ovens are a great way to prepare fast, delicious and nutritious food! If your oven needs a bit of shining up, follow these general cleaning steps… tested and tried by our very own Wiens staff.

1. Initiate Steam mode at 175 degrees F for 30 minutes. This will loosen fat and cooking debris from the oven. Turn oven off.

2. Wipe interior with a magic eraser. Scrub at difficult spots. If magic eraser doesn’t get it off, use Vim or Bar Keepers Friend.

3. Turn Steam mode on again for 5 minutes.

4. Wipe out excess water with paper towels and then use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe out.

5. For any water or blue tarnish spots, use a damp cloth and lemon juice. Do not use a steam cleaner.

These steps can be used on oven racks and stainless-steel pans or you can clean opt to clean them in the dishwasher.

To clean the outside of the oven, use a nonabrasive stainless-steel cleaner and apply with a soft lint-free cloth. Follow the stainless-steel graining. You can also use a damp microfiber cloth.

There you have it, a perfectly shiny oven again!
