How to Clean a Glass Stovetop

    by Wiens Furniture & Appliances

It doesn’t take long for a cooktop to have burnt-on food and scorch marks. After all, we’re doing a lot of cooking these days! But, like any appliance, you want to make sure it’s well taken care of. The key to keeping your cooktop looking like new is to clean it regularly. It’s easier than you think to get it back to its original, gleaming self. Follow these 6 simple steps and you’ll have a “new” cooktop in no time!

    1. Wipe It Down

Using a microfibre cloth, wipe down your stovetop to remove any crumbs. Make sure your cooktop is cold before proceeding.

    2. Sprinkle with Baking Soda

Generously sprinkle the entire surface with baking soda.

    3. Spray with Vinegar

Spray (or gently shake some from the bottle) the baking soda with vinegar. It should start foaming.

    4. Cover with A Damp Towel

Cover with a damp, soapy dish towel for 15 minutes.

    5. Wipe Everything Up

Use a dishtowel to wipe everything up.

    6. Spray with Vinegar Again

Spray with vinegar once again and use a microfibre cloth to bring back its original shine!

Please do not clean your stovetop with abrasive cleaners or steel pads as they will scratch the surface permanently.

A specialty cleaner will also do the trick. We have some great options in-store!
