10 Things to Do in Manitoba This Summer

by Wiens Furniture & Appliances
Summer is in full swing here in Manitoba! Have you been enjoying it so far? We love to spend as much time in the outdoors as we can, as our prairie summer is short and sweet. Thankfully, there are so many great things to do here in Manitoba! From a mac and cheese festival (what?!) to yurt camping, here are a few things we hope you add to your summer bucket list this year!

A baseball game is the perfect summer evening activity. Food is a huge part of baseball games and the Goldeyes Stadium has a ton of great options! Enjoy a craft beer at the Craft Beer Corner, a slice of Little Pizza Heaven pizza, and indulge your sweet tooth with some mini donuts!
This one is for the kids (or the kid at heart!) Enjoy this classic outdoor amusement park with over 20 rides and attractions.
Not your typical camping situation, camping in a yurt is comfortable, charming, and a lot of fun! With skylights, solar lighting, heaters, lanterns, a wood floor, and a lockable door, yurt camping is really glamping! There are many different Manitoba provincial parks that have yurts, including Riding Mountain National Park, Spruce Woods, Stephenfield Provincial Park, Asessippi and more!

Fly over a corn maze, through a forest, and down a ravine at Amaze in Corn Ziplines! The views are incredible! P.S. Get that summery Instagram photo at their Sunflower Expo (Aug 17-mid Sept)!
The Mac and Cheese Festival is stopping at The Forks, Winnipeg! This competition features chefs, cooks, and entrepreneurs showing off their culinary talents! Eat over 50 varieties of mac and cheese!
Spend a calm summer evening kayaking or canoeing at Fort Whyte. This 40-minute adventure is a great way to relax and enjoy the great outdoors! No experience is required.
Fringe Festival is just around the corner (July 17-28)! Enjoy amazing festival performances by talented local artists.
Morris is home to Manitoba's only professional rodeo! Only 1 hour from Winnipeg, enjoy bull-riding, horse racing, and chuck wagon races. Don't miss the midway or petting zoo!
A fun activity to do with friends or family, hop on a tandem bike and enjoy Manitoba's scenery. Bike at Birds Hill Park, Assiniboine Park, or the Forks!

Cheer on Winnipeg's newest soccer team at the IG Stadium in Winnipeg!
